Please read it here.

What does this mean for you as a trainee?

Xavier Teach SouthEast believe that teaching is a vocation. They can take you from the point of considering a career in teaching all the way through to National Professional Qualifications for Headships, if this is where you want to go! Whatever your journey, They will be there to support you at every stage of your career. Together, we understand that making the transition to a new career can be daunting, but we promise that with the large team of teachers alongside Aquinas and your placement schools we will provide you with a ready-made community where you will thrive and flourish.

Xavier Teach SouthEast offer the following routes into teaching for both primary and secondary which all result in Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option to undertake the academic award of a PGCE.

All of the full-time* programmes are structured on an academic year with trainees spending four days a week in school, and one day a week attending centralised training. You will receive a comprehensive induction with a chance to visit your placement school and two days in August before starting the programme in September.

*All of the programmes can be adapted to be completed on a part-time basis.

The fee-paying route you are applying for will allow you to work towards QTS whilst undertaking the role of a teacher in a school environment and being immersed in school life for the duration of the programme. As a partnership, we highly recommend all trainees complete a PGCE (through the partnership with the University of Sussex) alongside their QTS as they are complementary and designed to underpin your practice in the classroom, providing strength and breadth to your understanding. However, should you have exceptional circumstances where a PGCE is not the most appropriate option for your context, they do offer a QTS only option.

Some training routes and subject areas are eligible for government bursaries, please speak to the team or check the website for the most up-to-date details. Eligible trainees are able to access a student loan to cover the course fees and maintenance and means-tested loans are available on application through the student loans company.

What The trainees say about Xavier Teach Southeast

The best judge of the whole offer is the students who have completed it and are now on their way with a brilliant teaching career. Here is some recent feedback from one student.

Joining Xavier Teach Southeast has been one of the best career choices I have ever made.

I would say that one of my favourite aspects of this has been the level of pastoral care that TSE provides for its trainees. I have felt supported and listened to at every stage of my development. My pastoral coach is always approachable and available and has made my teaching journey that much easier.

Xavier Teach Southeast provides us with regular training sessions every Friday. It is clear from the way these sessions are delivered that the pedagogy is world class and that the training providers are experts in their field. They have a wealth of experience amongst them and that is very clear from the training they are able to offer. I have particularly enjoyed the sessions on behaviour management in Secondary Schools.

I was a supply teacher before I joined Xavier Teach Southeast and one of the things that I was missing was a rigorous understanding of how to engage pupils in such a way that different forms of behavioural issues didn’t present themselves. The Xavier Teach Southeast training has been vital in my understanding of this.
