Brief Summary:

Aquinas Education are searching for an ambitious and enthusiastic High-Level Teaching Assistant to work in one of our Ofsted “outstanding” rated Nottinghamshire NG10 Schools.

About the role:

The working hours are 8.15 am – 3.30 pm Monday – Friday

The school are looking for a High-Level Teaching Assistant, that will supervise whole classes in the Junior School, providing PPA cover for teachers. In addition, this role will provide in-class support alongside class teachers when not required to take classes and work with intervention groups and individual pupils as well as some admin and preparation of materials for teaching staff.

More Specifically you may be expected to:

  • Work with Teaching Staff on planning, evaluating and adjusting work programmes and intervention strategies as appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ responses to planned learning activities, observing and recording achievement against pre-determined learning objectives.
  • Provide feedback to teachers and students.
  • Keep records and update the system as required.
  • Mark students’ work and record achievement/progress.
  • Promote positive values, attitudes to learning and good pupil behaviour.
  • Liaise with parents/carers where necessary.
  • Undertake break duties.
