Brief Summary:

Aquinas Education are actively working with primary schools in Islington/Camden, North London who are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support them in long-term and part-time roles as soon as possible.

About the role:

Aquinas Education is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to work in either KS1 or KS2 at some of our amazing schools based in Islington and Camden. You would be supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs but also used as a general classroom assistant.

You will provide a high-quality service of support to pupils on a 1:1 and in small groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks and access learning within the classroom.
  • Supporting teachers in breaking down learning for pupils with SEN needs and helping them understand tasks.
  • Supervising group activities, and leading smaller learning groups.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis when required, with pupils who need extra help and support.
  • Motivating and helping pupils with SEN needs to achieve their full potential

You should have previous experience working within a school environment, or some understanding of working with children.
