About Liverpool

Liverpool is a city in Merseyside with a population of nearly 500,000. It’s the tenth largest English district by population and the wider city area is the fifth largest, with a population of over two million.

Known around the world as the home of the Beatles, it’s also famous for its arts, culture and architecture. It’s also home to Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere across the water in Wirral.

For many though, Liverpool is loved because of its thriving and varied nightlife, with late-night bars, pubs, nightclubs, live music venues and comedy clubs, scattered across the city. A 2011 TripAdvisor poll voted Liverpool as having the best nightlife of any UK city, ahead of Manchester, Leeds and even London.
