The Laidlaw Trust
Laidlaw Schools Trust was founded in 2008 to provide inspirational education to secondary school pupils in Newcastle.
They now provide inspirational education at seven nursery, primary and secondary academies in Newcastle, Sunderland and Sedgefield, and are set to grow further.
All of the Laidlaw academies are inclusive, supporting children from different backgrounds and with additional needs. They are proud of the diversity of their communities – illustrated by the fact that in some of their schools over 50 different languages are spoken.
Whatever their starting point in life, they aim to help their pupils to overcome any barriers that they may face, so that they can reach for the skies.
But in order to achieve this, it is fundamental that their pupils and staff enjoy coming to school and work. Being happy and healthy is the basis for success. Therefore, across all of their academies, they provide safe and welcoming environments and the necessary support for the whole school community to thrive.
They require energetic and enthusiastic, professional teachers and assistants who are friendly, hard-working and able to bring their own ideas to the classroom.
